Re-Elect Mary Beth Susman!
As promised, I hit the ground running as councilwoman. I was elected President of the Council in my first year of my first term and re-elected to a second term as President. I am honored to be serving you and working hard to maintain the excellent quality of life that we enjoy in District 5. You gave me a treasured responsibility and I look forward to our work together to guarantee the continued vitality of our district and Denver.
We share values that I want to continue to apply in city decisions:
- Persevere in our efforts to preserve our quality of life
- Listen to and understand the informed thinking of our citizens
- Take the smartest ideas forward for implementation
- Choose the best options for our district when hard choices are being made
Our growth has come at a faster pace that in certain areas we weren’t always ready for. While we remain one of the most economically successful cities in the U.S. with an unemployment rate around 2%, and have made giant strides in sustainability measures, we are challenged with our increase in traffic and serious affordability issues.
We share a love for the city. We want to be good stewards of the quality of life we have found here. Denver is a growing city, and we want to make good choices about density, sustainability, affordability, and mobility for the 21st century and beyond.
